Day Thirteen: No Bake Cookies and a Game of Poker

We got a late start to the day, as usual. I guess I really don't need to keep saying that, since it happens everyday. I think you get the idea. Anyway, Hilary and I bummed around on the computer for a bit before I took a shower. After that, we went downstairs and made no-bake cookies.

Funny story, Hilary thinks we're trying to kill her. We're leaving to go to Destin, Florida tomorrow. We'll be on the beach for five days, and since it's mid-July, it's swimsuit season. Hilary has been prepping for this this trip for a while in order to get her body in tip-top bathing suit shape. And for the past week, we have been making lemon bread, ice cream and cookies. We're out to get her. *Insert maniacal laugh here* Needless to say, the no-bake cookies are delicious.

After cooking a bit and washing up, Hilary and I went to pick up my mom from work. We then went to Kroger to get some shopping done for the trip to Florida. Much to mine and Hilary's excitement, we purchased buckets and shovels so we can build epic sandcastles. And I bought goggles so I can look at all the fishies because I'm too afraid to open my eyes under water...

Then we took Hilary to Firehouse Subs. THE best sub shop I have ever been to. Their subs are the best in the whole wide world. And no, I have not traveled the entire world, but I still give Firehouse that claim. Do you like Subway? Duh, who doesn't? Imagine Subway on steroids. That's how delicious it was (not to mention unhealthy). And when we got home, we happily devoured them.

And now I must announce a change of plans. A case of homesickness swept over our dear Hilary and she misses her family and friends dearly. It suddenly became apparent that when she returned on the 10th of August, she would have only a month to spend with all her friends before she left for college and it simply wasn't enough. So, with a few hammers and a bit of elbow grease, her flight was changed and she will now be returning on August 2nd, a week earlier. What that means for me: I won't really be doing much because I can't drive and my chauffeur will be across the country. What that means for you: the blog posts may become shorter and a tad uneventful. But on the plus side, I'll have extra time with my mommy. And more time to build my dream home on this cool Home Design software that my mom has. I'm addicted to it.

Anyway, after that, Hilary, mom and I headed downstairs and my mom taught us how to play poker. It must have been beginner's luck, because I completely slaughtered them. But you don't have to worry, I won't be going to any casinos. Or using real money, because that would be silly. I felt quite proud, though.

We then went upstairs and began packing for our Florida trip. WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! Sure, there's a good chance of rain everyday, but it's still going to be hot everyday, so we're going to love it. Now the thing is, I don't know if they have free wifi. I certainly hope I do, or else I won't be able to blog... So if you don't hear from me in the next five days, we either don't have wifi at the place we're staying, or we got attacked and devoured by a man-eating sea monster.

And now we've got to wake up in six hours, because we're gonna go use big-boy guns and shoot a bunch of inanimate objects at a shooting range before heading out to Florida. Goodnight and thanks for reading!
