Massive apologies for the lack of posts and huge delay! As you know, we were in Florida for five days, and then we came back... And I was just lazy. We all have our days. But, better late than never, right? Right!
Here we go, Wednesday morning we were awake early in the morning, but before we shoved our suitcases in the car, we loaded it up with guns and ammo. That's right, kids. GUNS. We headed over to the Tuskegee National Forest and got our gun permits for the day and headed out to the shooting range. Once we got all set up, Jonathan gave Hilary and I a thorough lesson on how to properly hold and shoot a gun. Soon, we had our earmuffs on and we were shooting different targets that we had set up.
We definitely had a lot of fun. Hilary and I both did a pretty good job at hitting the targets. We both tried out different kinds of guns. I'll put pictures at the bottom for you to see how crazy awesome we are. After we were done destroying the range, we packed back up and headed back home. Once there, we packed all our stuff for Florida in the back of the car and we were on our way!
In the car, Hilary and I watched Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I was pleasantly surprised; it was better than I thought it would be. Not to mention that Hilary and I find Logan Lerman, who plays Percy, is extremely adorable. As we neared coast, we drove by massive hotels and saw tons of lights all over the city and the water. It was really pretty, especially since it was getting dark and all the lights were bright.
Eventually we made it to our little apartment thingy at the military base recreation area and unpacked. It wasn't very big, but it was cozy. Hilary and I decided to take a late night walk. We went to the long dock that stretched out over the water. It was dark so we couldn't see a whole lot, but there were lights on the edge of the dock that lit up the water. We saw lots of big fishies jumping in and out of the water. We saw lots of crabs swimming around the bottom of the water. And even though we were out 50 or so yards, the water was only 3 to four feet deep, so we could see all the things swimming around.
There we lots of people out on the dock with crabbing nets, and they had lots of luck. All the kids got together with their families and caught lots of crab, it was fun to watch the kids get excited. Hilary even gave me a lesson on how to tell male and female crab apart. Soon, we were back in our cute little apartment and we went to sleep. A good day was had by all, and we definitely looked forward for the next day and the Florida sun!
